LaGrange Black History Tour

Whether you are you visiting LaGrange, Georgia, or you were born and
raised here, the ‘I Didn’t Know That!’ Black History Tour by Felecia T. Moore will capture your attention.  The one-hour tour will begin at the
Mulberry Street Cemetery, then travel to historic African American business district in LaGrange, and conclude at South View Cemetery, the final resting place for several well-known LaGrange residents.

Mulberry Cemetery – Burial site for Master Bridge Builder Horace King and his son, George King, hundreds of African Americans, and Confederate soldiers.  There is also one of George King’s covered bridges on the site.

Hamilton Road Community – This historic African American business district has been practically erased due to a road-widening project.

Southview Cemetery – Burial site for many African Americans that made significant contributions to the LaGrange community.
 
Rates: $40.00 per adult
$15.00 for children age 12 and under.
